Our Guides: Qualifications & Supervision

The right guide for the right terrain. Travel coordination and technical mountain supervision are different responsibilities.

What to review for your route

  • Relevant terrain experience and the scope, validity and specialization of any qualifications presented for the assigned guide.
  • First-aid preparation appropriate to remoteness and how health concerns are escalated.
  • Guide-to-traveler arrangements based on difficulty, technical terrain, conditions and the group’s needs—not a universal number.
  • Language, briefing, equipment checks and how instructions are communicated.

Supervision and decisions

Follow the assigned guide’s safety instructions, stay with the agreed group and report symptoms early. Guides may change, shorten or cancel a route or require a turnaround. Discuss the implications in your written proposal; a summit is never guaranteed.

This page does not assert a particular certification, guide language or rescue capability. Ask for the assigned guide’s profile and route-specific arrangements before booking.
